An Open Letter To Donald Trump From Some Angry Women.

Dear Mr. Trump… can I call you Mr. Trump? Is that ok? I want you to be happy, that’s very important to me.

Before I get started, let me say this letter isn’t from all women. The Trumpettes surely won’t approve of this message. But this is from most women.

We see right through you. We have all known you at some point. Your ways are not unfamiliar to us. We see through you because we’ve been dealing with you our whole lives.

We heard you call women pigs. And disgusting. And stupid. And bimbos.

We watched as you called a former Ms. Universe “Ms. Piggy” and then spent four days continuing to insult her.

We see your weakness. Your lust for attention at any cost, your need to denigrate women. We see all of it. And we’re mad.

Yes. We’re mad. And fired up. And here’s the thing about us… we can be bitches.

Gone are the days where we question our power or our influence. We are strong. Smart. We know our worth and it doesn’t reside in the size of our bras or our skinny jeans. We build each other up. We have our sister’s backs. And our brother’s. So when you took on the former Ms. Universe, you took on all of us.

And right now you’ve got a lot of angry women to contend with. And let me remind you, Mr. Trump… hell hath no fury like a pissed off woman who’s tired of this sexist bullshit.

We heard you when you said we should  “look for another place to work” if we experience workplace sexual harassment. Your non-solution illustrates either your lack of understanding or lack of concern. Or both. Your attitude and ignorance on this is stunning. Your response, pathetic. We see you, and we see someone who’s in over their head.

We watched you interrupt a woman 51 times during a 90 minute debate. While the better qualified, more knowledgeable woman was talking, you attempted to bulldoze right over her. We all know this game. It’s called male privilege. And it doesn’t look good on you, Mr. Trump. It makes you look weak. We see you, and we see a man who is so threatened by a woman speaking that you can’t even bear to let her finish. Sad.

And we see it rampant throughout your campaign and your proposed policies. It’s in your paltry maternity leave proposal that leaves out fathers and LGBTQ and adoptive parents. And when you say that women who seek abortions should be punished. And when you refuse to consider supporting equal pay for women.

Your latest ad, in which your daughter, beaming with privilege and pride, says “being a mother is the most important job a woman can have.” didn’t go over so well with us, Mr. Trump.

We are different, us women. We are not a homogenous army of fem-bots. We have different interests, goals and lives. There is more to us than motherhood. Some of us revel in motherhood. Some of us don’t want to have children. And some of us can’t have children. Our status as mothers has nothing to do with our worth. This ad, coupled with your policies show that you are tone deaf to the reality that women face and point to an antiquated attitude. One that keeps women as the caregivers and leaves men out of that equation.

We see you. And we see a man who has no business representing our interests in the Oval Office.

We heard you say no one would vote for Carly Fiorina “because of her face.”

We remember you calling women “a beautiful piece of ass” in Esquire Magazine.

We watch you say one thing, then say the opposite. Then refuse to admit any of it happened. Problem is, we can spot gas lighting from a mile away.

We recall the bit about all women being gold diggers in your memoir.

We cringe and hold our daughters a little closer when we are reminded that you said you’d date your daughter. If only she weren’t your daughter.

We remember when you called a lawyer “disgusting” for requesting a break during a trial to breastfeed.

We roll our eyes when we saw you try to dismiss Megyn Kelly after she had the nerve to ask you questions. At a debate. “Blood coming out of her wherever” was not lost on us. Most of us remember hearing such comments in Middle School.

We are horrified when we learn that you sent a journalist a picture of herself with the word “Dog” scrawled across it.

We seethe with anger when we read your tweet blaming military sexual assault on the fact that women are in the military.

We haven’t forgotten your lurid tweet about Hillary Clinton not being able to “satisfy” her husband.

Not only do you not understand women, you seem to have an awful lot of contempt for them. This is not fitting for a man who wants to be President in the 21st Century.

Which leads me to this:

Make America Great Again.

We know exactly what you meant when you branded yourself with this slogan. It’s not-so-coded language for a time gone by. Your “great” America wasn’t so great for women and minorities and gay people.

We won’t go back.

We won’t be relegated to the kitchen.

We won’t be locked into a life where we have no choice over our bodies or whether we have babies.

We won’t accept your patronizing response to sexual harassment.

We won’t be silenced or demeaned any more.

We won’t be ridiculed for our weight or judged by our appearance.

We won’t be shamed for owning our sexuality.

We have come a long way since your days of when America was “great.”

We have busted our asses to get here and we’re not going back.

We are raising strong daughters who fight back against sexist school dress codes.

We are raising strong sons who aren’t afraid of their feelings and aren’t afraid of strong girls.

We are shutting down catcalling.

We are no longer letting ourselves be interrupted and drowned out in the board room.

We are locking arms with our sisters in solidarity when rapists are given a slap on the wrist.

We are shouting about every day sexism.

We are calling you out, Mr. Trump.

We will not go quietly into any good night. We are loud. We are in your face. And we don’t put up with the kind of bullshit you’re selling.

So maybe this isn’t your time, Mr. Trump. Maybe your time has passed.

Maybe you would have been more suited to the early 1900’s when women did not yet have the right to vote.

When marital rape was still legal.

Or the 1950’s when women largely stayed home and produced children and McCarthyism and blacklisting were acceptable.

Or perhaps 1930’s Germany would have been a better fit for you.

But now? Now is not your time.

We’re moving forward. All of us, smart men and women, have had enough of the tired gender roles. We’ve had enough of you and other weak, fearful men trying to stop progress.

We see you, Mr. Trump.

We see your sexism and your bigotry and your racism. We see right through you.

Remember. We can be bitches.

And bitches get shit done.

Bitches Vote.

See you on November 8, Mr. Trump.

    1. obviously not all woman believe the way angry woman do. Trump won and I voted for him. His remarks about woman were offensive to me very much so but I didn’t throw a tantrum and when I heard Madona and Ashley Judd speak for angry woman I was more offended and discussed at what they were saying and how they were saying it, there number #1 at vile talk and offending people Trump didn’t come close. Angry women won.

      1. This “person’ who voted for the lying thief Donald Trump who is not making America great again, he is RAPING America. He is like a 9 year old child. He has no attention span. At times he looks like he can’t even read! November 8th, 2016 unfortunately is a horrible day for ALL Americans to remember. Wake up America Trump is in bed with the Russians, and where are his tax returns?

        1. Your comments are correct. How is it that the reps of congress and senators are blind to this. He is like a bully on the playground. No wonder his father sent him to military school, he was a bully even then, degrading people, and lies lies and lies. His father bailed him out too many times

        2. I can’t think of anything worse then all of Hillarys lies, the people she has stole from which by the way was you need and me. The thousands she stole from Hatti to rebuild after mother nature’s took their homes, the men in Benghazi that were savagely murdered which she knew before it happened, and all the people she had hits but out on then. I would much rather have Trump as my President because he is doing his job. I will vote for him again in 2020. people that hate Trump you best pull up your big girl panties and get a JOB the free ride is over

  1. now that Mr.Trump is President of the United States of America, I think you
should change your tune! He is to be honored for what he is doing for
our nation…at least we can keep “IN GOD WE TRUST” on our money He
won’t let men die for fear of other things the public doesn’t
understand. Maybe our schools will continue saying the pledge of Allegiance,.. and teaching about the Bible and
our God… and why they certainly need to know these things.
our standards about Religion, freedom and ‘Why’ they are ‘free’ !!!
May God Bless you President Trump, may you follow in God’s way as a Christen. Be a light in our children’s future, and someone they can trust and lead our great nation…thank you Mr. President.

      1. You don’t have to be a Christian to believe in God. A Christian believes in Christ (thus the name). There are many Gods worshipped around the world, and now our country belongs to many peoples and many cultures. So all children do not need to hear about the bible, Jesus, or God. They should receive their religious education in their homes and churches – or not. They might be athiests. So just keep the bible out of schools. I am Catholic, went to Catholic school, but not everyone has to worship or believe as I do.

        1. When I went to school, we recited the 23rd psalm. I have used this many times as a care giver. You might say that it has given comfort to many who have left this world. I am glad to have had the opportunity to have learned it in school at such a young age.

    1. Religious freedom means having a leader who does the right things, not the “christian things”. You are welcome to beleive whaf you want, but our president is for all the people.

    2. Romans 13: 9 & 10 The commandments “Do not commit adultery,” “Do not murder,” “Do not steal,” “Do not covet,” and any other commandments, are summed up in this one decree: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the Law.

    3. Judith, you just shat a smoldering pile of ignorance. My jaw is dropping at your hypocrisy. I really wish Jesus would return today just so I can watch him smite your ass into oblivion.

    4. This is the United States of America. We are a nation of diversity. There are not only Christians. Religion does NOT belong in public schools. Donald Trump is only a pawn of Steve Bannon, Leninist. Trump, go back to Fifth Avenue, You are not wanted!

    5. “may you follow in God’s way as a Christen”

What in the wide world of fuck is a “Christen”? Maybe it’s not others who should “change their tune”, maybe it’s you who should at least get a 6th grader’s education.

Also, every woman who voted for Trump should give her XX chromosomes back. You’re obviously unfit to belong to your own gender.

      1. What kind of person would attack someone who made a peaceful, and hopeful comment, for an accidental mispelling. I mean really, are you so perfect as you expect others to be. Lets base our arguments in facts. Not name calling, Insults, or pre judgements.

  2. I’m sure I’m not the first to say this, but, I can understand a persons moral problems with the language that our president elect has used in the past. And how they might draw the conclusion that those few words represent who he is as a whole.
But really, how does that compare to the moral view on the deaths of Vincent Foster and Seth Rich. OK, that’s not proven. How about the lies she has told on camera to the American public, and under oath to the FBI and Kenneth Star and congress.
What about how she made $150,000,000,000. while she served as secretary of state. Or the other $150,000,000,000 she made off of the earthquake in Haiti, where the foundation was supposed to rebuild homes and infrastructure, but none were built.
I think actions speak louder than words. You are just hurt because you wanted a woman president, as many women have hoped would happen, or maybe even bernie. Its understandable. but look, the democratic party offered you a pile of corrupt, lying, psychopathic, poo, and expected you to vote for it because it matters to you that a woman hasn’t yet been president.
This isn’t about misogyny or shovenism, The vote might have reflected the huge desire in this country for the first woman president if the candidate had been michelle obama or sarah palin, but in this case the vote was about draining the swamp and stopping war, the impending war that our current policies are driving us toward.
    One last thought,
It is widely believed that the educated white woman is the deciding vote in a us election. The 29 electoral votes in florida were won because 54% of that group voted for President Trump.
I hope you will, calm down and work to unite people from now on. its important to our country.

    1. I see you are already blaming Obama if we end up going to war. Well, it tends to follow – if Republicans are in, we go to war. You know why? Because the manufacturers of weapons, tanks, even uniforms are all for it. Just check with the government contractors. They make LOTS of money when we go to war.

      Liked by 1 person

      1. That’s always been the problem $$$$$. If the government built the weapons of war then there would be no profit in them, therefore no greed or need to look to start wars for people to make $$$$$. Think about it.

  3. You Mentioned McCarthyism in your letter, suggesting that trump longed for a time when John McCarthy took out a political coup by accusing others of being communist.
Most people wont remember that from social studies. But I bet most people will remember Hillary accusing our president elect over and over of being a Russian sympathizer. You see, apparently McCarthyism is still a handy tool for the democratic party. Funny thing is no-one realized it.

  4. You call me a “trumpette” because I voted for Donald Trump instead of Hilary Clinton. I myself was lost as to where you would get such a word so I asked my husband where it came from. The word strumpet means a prostitute or a promiscuous woman which is what you are implying a woman who voted for him is. I am neither I am a faithful wife who loves her family more than anything else in the world.

I voted for him because I do not want to see another war and just maybe somebody who isn’t a career politician can do some good for our country. Hilary lied repeatedly to our face and has broken many laws. So no I do not want that has our representation of our country and I do not believe in open borders with no background checks.

I know a business woman who is educated and very successful she herself voted for trump. So to call people names and insult them because you do not like their views or opinions is just uncalled for. I could be immature also and call you some names but I am better than that so I will hold my tongue in that regard.

Seeing first hand the cruelties of this world I know that we need change. Despite the differences people have we need to work together to bring our country back to prosperity and peaceful times.

    1. When did Hillary lie? She appeared for 11 hours answering every question they could think of and she was exonerated of any criminal activity. I worked for a government contractor, did lots of manuals for the Army. I never saw a “classified” document that wasn’t marked CLASSIFIED in big bold letters. I also never heard of a (C) before a paragraph indicating classified. That was all a witch-hunt.
So, what laws did she break? Trump just kept saying that until the brainless started to believe it. If you read the papers, watched the news, watched the debates, it was very obvious that Trump was not the kind of person to represent our country. I just can’t imagine him meeting with foreign dignitaries, just wanting his way and to be worshipped by everyone. He is such an egoist, self-serving jerk.

      1. Well, your opinion of the president elect is your right to own. But i contend that Trumps personality is the only fault you will find with him. Vs hillary’s criminality there really is no question. I probably researched this subject more than most people. I watched all the debates, many news channels reports.
listen if you want true and undisputable facts, Do a wiki on “Judicial watch”
Then youtube them. They are authorized to call witnesses, and discovery of evidence, including FOIA. Also Just listen to the 5 minutes of james comey testifying to congress, specifically when trey gowdy quizzes him on statements hillary made under oath, vs facts. And really, only 1% of her work related email was found on her email.
So are you telling me that that in 4 years less that one percent of her emails contained classified information??
She also lied many years ago under oath to special prosecutor kenneth star. GOOGLE THAT SHIT!
For real watch a documentary on the Haiti earthquake relief fund, then google the connection between bill hill and Haiti.
Watch Judge Jeanine she is a former Judge, Wiki her!
She has a talk show its not political rhetoric, it is facts.
Also Judge Napolitino can tell you all about her.
And if you think trump is arrogant, do a youtube on hillary meltdown and see the many accounts where she goes on child like tirades towards her top aides and bodyguards.
I would like to see this country to come together. I Believe Trump will surprise people. But first people have to quit listening to the beat of the drums and seek out the truth.

        1. This is a man who admitted to sexual assault. A man who is a liar, a cheat, and a failure. And totally unprepared. He doesn’t have control of his own emotions. He is easily angered. Who even lied to people like you, as it turns out.

And you want him for president. It is a Republican Party who gave you this steaming pile of crap.

        2. The Republican Party didn’t give us Donald Trump. Most of them gave him as much shit as everyone else. Were you even watching what happened?

    2. Why did you ask your husband, why not find out for yourself? Had you done so, you may have got the right answer!. Your husband was right that a, STRUMPET, means a prostitute, but the word used was, TRUMPETTE, completely different word! One takes the name Trump & adds “ette” definition here: -ette- Used to form nouns meaning the female equivalent of. majorette, bachelorette, Smurfette. Used to form nouns meaning a smaller form of something. cigarette, kitchenette, diskette. So there you go, Trumpette: a female Trump, or a smaller version of Trump. PS Buy your husband a hearing aid!

  5. Don’t be angry give him encouragement let see what he’s made of remember we are stronger together I think he will be a good president

  6. Sadly this was like by Janice Lashley or whatever she is calling herself now who BTW is the woman who helped her husband kidnap and rape several women. She helped her husband keep a woman for years and was even jealous of this woman her husband kept as sec slave. So sadly this is lost on me. You can’t help commit horrors or crimes against other women and then pretend you are now disgusted by this,

  7. so it appears you are pretty silent after your “bitches” didn’t get their shit done , when I was on line to vote, I was sure the woman behind me was for KillLIEary but then when we started chatting I quickly realized she was for TRUMP!!! LOL

  8. seems like the batteries for the female privilege were being used elsewhere during the election, ………as long as young girls are willing to drop out of high school date a bad boy to have a validation baby, and are willing to be a bunny in a pageant, use her part for emotional terrorism…. dry your tears women, and bring your A game next time

  9. Hi Gretchen!

I know, it’s been a year since we were last in touch, but I hope you didn’t forget me?

How are you? How’s your family (including any non-human members)?

This is a great post. I’d forgotten just how much I enjoyed your writing, insight and wit! I was utterly shocked when Trump won, and I agree with everything you said here. It amazes me that his supporters are still praising him and steadfastedly refuse to acknowledge the many wrong things that he’s said and done. And now his latest Twitter rants about Mike Pence and the raging about SNL, it seems the man still hasn’t learned to behave like a normal adult male.

2016 has been a really bad year in my world and I had to let some things slide in order to cope. Unfortunately, blogging was one of them.

If you’re interested, feel free to look at a post I finally wrote ad published yesterday, though don’t expect much. (It’s actually my very 1st post of the year!) I was very tired and a bit loopy on cold meds when I wrote and posted it. 😉

Okay, I’m off to do some more catching up now, hugs!

  11. I’m embarrassed that this election happened. I’m shocked that so many Americans are afraid to stand up to the rich bully.

The things he says are very stupid, awful. People avoid people like this unless they believe they will benefit from the association. Right now it has been all talking nonsense in order to find out who the reliable ass kissers are and who are those who will stand up to the bs.

After Jan20 he’ll be able to do things. Hopefully someone in congress will not let him actually do all the stupid things he has talked about. Most likely he will form an army of ass kissers and go after those who are trying to stand up to him.

He was correct when he said “he could shoot someone in Times Square and people would still vote for him”. The Donald right or wrong. After all , “lock her up” , “lied rhymes with died” , and “” I’ll pay your legal bills if you knock the crap out of him”. What a great guy!

  12. Wow. You sure attracted some classy, upstanding citizens with excellent spelling skills.

And I’m wondering how all the decent people who thought he might surprise us are feeling now. Keep writing.

  13. I appreciate this piece. It is a shame that this man got elected. Please keep writing, and keep speaking out. Your conclusion was not right for this election, but it will be right in the long run. My stance on Trump is that he behaves is a sociopath, and that is at the core of his despicable and offensive behavior toward women and other groups. Everyone needs to gain a perspective on what a narcissistic sociopath is in order to process this man’s behavior. I invite you to read the information I’ve compiled to gain a perspective that many likely have not have considered ( Again, thank you for this amazing piece, and it breaks my heart that a misogynist (among other things), who is a poster child for white male privilege (a woman and/or minority could never succeed behaving as Trump does) has usurped this position from what should have been the first woman president. 14. Liberals/Progressives/Far Left will never get it that the main reason that Donald Trump won was Hillary Clinton and her huge bag of disgusting baggage going back decades that she hauls around behind her, in other words her history – her history of scandals, rudeness, incompetence, screw-up after screw-up, poor judgement, etc.
